I love this necklace design in particular because it is simple and requires little effort to make changes to it to accommodate different people’s tastes.  In this class we will be using the simple crochet chain stitch and working with fingering weight yarn and beads to create a lovely and versatile necklace that can also be used as a layered bracelet.  This class is for all skill levels.

Amigurumi Penguin

Instructor: Ivonne Schuh

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner

WHAT IS AMIGURUMI?

Amigurumi, a popular type of crochet, is a portmanteau of two Japanese terms: ami, meaning crocheted or knitted; and nuigurumi, a stuffed doll. It often takes the form of an animal or fantastical creature with an aesthetic that’s best described as kawaii or cute. This makes amigurumi ideal for kids or anyone that likes button noses and rosy cheeks.

Are you hooked but don’t know where to start? Then this class is for you! Students will learn the basics of amigurumi, learning to shape little creatures, creating different facial expressions, and dressing them up. By the end of the classes you will be able to go home with this cute, little penguin.
