Crocodile gloves are fun and always bring interest from people who see them. These gloves are great for driving, snapping photos and texting. Variegated yarn brings out the crocodile scales, one scale over top of the other.

Description: Have you always wanted to learn how to knit or perhaps you learned to knit many years ago and need a refresher class in the basic knitting stitches and techniques - then our Beginning Knitting Class has you covered! Students will learn about the different yarn types, knitting needle options, and beginning knitting techniques while knitting the "Beginner's Stitch Sampler Scarf" pattern by Kristina Tucker.
This is the original Knitting Academy created by Jenna Hycner. A number of sessions will be a repeat of what was offered previously but I’ve added content to each topic.
What is the Knitting Academy? It is a program developed to help you take your knitting to the next level. You will learn new skills, ways to perfect your technique and to perfect your finished project. Here is your chance to raise your craft to the next level. In the Knitting Academy, we will cover topics that will improve and enrich your knitting.
Instructor: Sandy Aldridge
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner - Knitter should know how to cast-on, the knit stitch and the purl stitch.
Description: Build your knitting skills one square at a time! “Building Blocks” is a series of twelve fun patterns - each square focuses on new stitches and knitting techniques in a carefully designed sequential approach that “builds” upon the previously learned knitting skill.
The Building Blocks Part Two Class will cover Blocks Seven through Twelve with a CLASS BONUS!
A class will proceed with a minimum of 3 students, and attendance will be capped at 7 students. To ensure that a class will proceed, please sign up as soon as possible.
To sign up for a class, please call us at (804)362-7800 or sign up in the store. If you are interested in a class that is full, we will place you on the waitlist. Waitlisted registrants will be contacted in the order they were received. Unless otherwise stated in the class description, all students are expected to arrive to the first class on time and with supplies ready to go. If you have yarn that needs to be wound, it should be done prior to the first class.
Payment for class should be made at the time you sign up. If you call we will collect payment over the phone.
Center of the Yarniverse is happy to offer a discount of 10% off yarn for the class. It is expected that the yarn purchased is the weight and quantity that applies to the class project. Other supplies, to include needles and patterns, are exempt from the discount unless otherwise stated.
If the minimum for a class is not met, your payment will be refunded. Determining whether or not a class will proceed due to low attendance will be determined by the instructor and/or the shop.
If inclement weather or reasons beyond the shop's control affect a particular class date, the class will be rescheduled.
A registered student may cancel a class 10 days prior to the first class and receive a full refund. If you must cancel less than 10 days prior, you will receive a refund if your slot is taken by a waitlisted registrant. Every effort will be made to assist anyone in this situation to receive a refund.
We will make every attempt to assist with basic knitting troubles during regular shop hours; however, the assistance is based on staff availability and is on a case by case basis. Our instructors do offer private lessons for $30/hour. Scheduling is based on the instructor’s schedule and availability. It is possible that the instruction may occur when the shop is traditionally closed.
