What is the Knitting Academy? It is a program developed to help you take your knitting to the next level. You will learn new skills, ways to perfect your technique and to perfect your finished project. Here is your chance to raise your craft to the next level. Amigurumi, a popular type of crochet, is a portmanteau of two Japanese terms: ami, meaning crocheted, and nuigurumi, a stuffed doll. Let me show you the simple basics of amigurumi with this fun project. Students will learn the basics of amigurumi, how to shape little creatures, create different facial expressions, and dress them up.

Crochet experience is a plus but not necessary.

We will make every attempt to assist with basic knitting troubles during regular shop hours; however, the assistance is based on staff availability and is on a case by case basis. Our instructors do offer private lessons for $30/hour. Scheduling is based on the instructor’s schedule and availability. It is possible that the instruction may occur when the shop is traditionally closed.
